Notice where materials meet

An accessible gap around a pipe, cabinet plinth or wall edge is useful context. Its presence alone does not prove a pest route. Describe any nearby sightings, droppings or damage separately.

Leave utilities and heavy equipment alone

Do not disconnect pipes, disturb wiring or move fixed equipment to investigate. Tell the business what is inaccessible so the visit can be planned around the property.

Separate repair from pest work

Closing gaps, fixing a leak and managing pest activity may be different parts of the proposal. Ask who is responsible for each and what should happen first.

Coordinate shared maintenance

For an apartment or workplace, identify the person responsible for building repairs. A clear access plan prevents an assessment from stopping at a locked common area.
