Describe the position from a distance

Say whether the nest is beneath an eave, beside a doorway or near a path. You do not need to approach it, disturb it or collect an insect to start the conversation.

Explain how the entrance is used

Mention the route people normally take and whether another entrance is available. An active problem at a frequently used door has different access needs from an unused corner of the garden.

Identification changes the conversation

Bees, wasps and hornets are not interchangeable. Describe the insect and nest if already observed, and ask which assessment or specialist handling is appropriate. A bee enquiry does not guarantee colony removal.

Confirm arrangements before attendance

Ask about current availability, safe access and preparation. The business name is not a promise of a particular arrival time. Keep people away from the affected area where possible.
